GSN ANNOUNCES NEW TEACHER CASH AWARD PROGRAM

GSN has launched it’s long-awaited GSN Online Shared Learning Award Program.

This Award recognizes current K-12 classroom teachers, media specialists, and
other school based educators who have distinguished themselves in the area of
online shared learning. Qualified educators who are nominated and selected will
receive a cash award in the amount of $7,500 in recognition of their dedication,
leadership and hard work. In addition, the winner  will be provided an expense
paid (travel, hotel & registration) trip to NECC(2002: San Antonio,  Texas,
June 17-20) where he or she will be recognized as part of the NECC program.

Ray Saitz, a teacher in Ontario, Canada, set out to produce an English and Library
lesson plan website which would feature classroom tested lessons complete with the original student handouts. The site has now grown beyond just Ray’s lessons and includes over 200 mostly secondary school English lesson plans contributed by teachers from all over the world. The lessons are arranged in the areas of literature, writing, poetry and library.

book, ‘Bikesters’ .. The site contains among other things two adventures (chapters) out of the 20 in the full manuscript.  It is created as a G-rated action adventure series for pre teen and teen readers although the site has also gathered a strong following of ‘big kids’.

The hope of the author is that the Bikester stories will stimulate the reader to take
a look at the world around them and help make them more aware of the many

of social responsibility.
