CLASSROOM TEACHER'S EMERGENCY LESSON PLANS
John Philips
jjohnny@csolve.net
ISBN 0-9686403-0-3
These emergency lesson plans come from John Philips new book "Jivin Johnny's Classroom Teacher's Emergency Lesson Plans for elementary and high schools."  The book contains over 90 student centered lessons and projects to help you survive--while your students learn! COMPARE AND CONTRAST List as many similarities and differences as you can between a hot dog and hamburger.
In two separate paragraphs, compare two things by describing their similarities in the 1st paragraph and their differences in the 2nd paragraph.

Some suggestions:  mammal vs. reptile
         lunch vs. dinner
                     elementary school vs. high school
                               football vs. soccer
                               French vs. Spanish
                               a 'crush' vs. true love
                               deciduous vs. coniferous
                               rock vs. rap

Sample:                  Both cars and trucks are vehicles for conveying things.
Cars are usually gear operated and gas powered; so are
                               trucks.  Both______________
However, the two do have significant differences.
Whereas cars transport people, trucks transport goods.
Cars are smaller than trucks.  Cars seat 5 or 6; trucks
on the other hand, carry only 2 or 3.  While cars______
                               trucks_____________.
TEACHER:  Try this in any subject.  It's a great learning tool.

subscriber and long time supporter, Cathy Vincent-Linderoos.  People for
Education is made up of parents from public and Catholic schools in

education.   Although this organization is Ontario based, all teachers
and schools would benefit from taking a look at their elementary school

sent to 4,000 elementary schools this year.
