WEBSITE UPDATES
http://www.thebusyeducator.com/

One of  my favourite sites and one of my "Top Educator Sites" the Kentucky Migrant Technology Project at  http://www.migrant.org/ is about to be taken off the free Web and made into a pay site.

New URL  for Tech Corps: http://www.techcorps.org

KNOWLEDGEABLE NEIGHBORS EMBRACE THE WORLD HOME
http://www25.brinkster.com/kneworld/index.html

To increase sensitivity and broaden appreciation for our differences, we created
this website so Americans can educate themselves about their neighbors and
communities. We hope educators will use this site to promote understanding of
students who may feel marginalized; workers may strive to reach out to their
co-workers about whom they realize they know little.

PBSKIDS ZOOM
http://pbskids.org/zoom/

ZOOM is PBS's award-winning daily interactive television series and 3,000 page
website. The site challenges five to eleven year-olds to "turn off the TV and do it."
Behind each entertaining half-hour episode is a curriculum developed by leading
educators and advisors. ZOOM's multi-disciplinary content-based format teaches
viewers to take an active approach to learning—to ask questions, create,
experiment, and open themselves up to new possibilities. Kids can also interact
with ZOOM at ZOOMzone museum exhibits, and at ClubZOOM after-school
programs nationwide.

Already home to hundreds of ZOOM activities, science experiments, recipes,
trivia, games, and viewer submissions (Z-mail), the site has added all kinds of
new features for the new season, including:

ZOOM Into Action - http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/zoom/action/
All about kids who volunteer in their local communities with suggestions and
links to resources to help you get started;

An updated Cast area - http://pbskids.org/zoom/cast
Learn about each and every ZOOMer from the show;

ZOOMmusic - http://pbskids.org/zoom/music)

Some new behind-the-scenes stuff in Studio Z, including a virtual tour of the
television control room - http://pbskids.org/zoom/studioz

New ZOOMy downloadables and printables in Freeloads
- http://pbskids.org/zoom/freeloads

There are also instructions to over 85 new activities from
the show, including games, science activities, recipes,
arts & crafts projects, plays and more.

MISUNDERSTOOD MINDS WEBSITE
http://www.pbs.org/misunderstoodminds

For one in five students, learning is an exhausting and frustrating struggle.
The "Misunderstood Minds" website includes strategies for addressing
various learning difficulties, tools for educators and parents, background on
current issues surrounding the topic, resources to learn more, and information
on the five children profiled in the documentary and their families. An interactive
feature called "Firsthand" provides a glimpse of what it may be like to have
learning problems, such as difficulties decoding the components of words,
problems with memory, or with the recall of basic math facts.

Here's what you'll find online:

A breakdown of the basic elements in four areas -- attention, reading, writing,
and mathematics -- an examination of some of the difficulties experienced
by those who may be struggling with them, and some recommended responses.

Interactive Activity: experience firsthand what it's like to cope with a learning problem in these interactive activities.

A WI(L)DER WORLD - CONSERVATION THROUGH EXPLORATION
http://library.thinkquest.org/C0114989/

The World we live in is only part of one other world - one other dimension in our planet Earth...A wider one that would take millions of years to explore but just a second to ruin. It is a Wi(l)der World, a magnificent and intriguing world - the world of nature.

About the audience the site is not designed for a small range like 15-25. It could
be handled as content from anybody who wants to get involved in the animal
world and the problems they face everyday. Actually I could define it as age
from 9 and above even though the site might be of interest to some little children
as well.
************************************************************************
