ULTRABUG CLIPOSCOPE
www.nfbkids.ca/cliposcope
NFB’s Animation/Youth Studio has put a new website online for kids. The
Ultrabug Cliposcope gives 9-to-12-year-olds a hands-on introduction to
moviemaking. Cliposcope introduces kids to the world of film by teaching them
how to make their own short animated flicks with just a few clicks of the mouse.
To begin, budding animators choose a background, characters, actions, and props,
then arrange them however they like. Next, they combine these elements into a
sequence using a time line. Thus each visitor plays the role of art director,
casting agent, set-designer, screenwriter, director, editor and camera operator.
