As we enter the holiday season and the end of another year it's a good time to reflect on where we've been and where we're going.

Dr. Randy Pausch Fundraising Page Image a Computer Science Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, delivered an incredibly inspirational "Last Lecture" on achieving your childhood dreams. The "Last Lecture" became a worldwide phenomenon.

Share it with your students, your staff and your family and friends for an inspiration to what teachers do every day.

THE DIXONARY MRS. DIXON'S VOCABULARY WEBSITE (GR. 9-12)

High school teacher Kathryn Dixon from Winter Springs High School Central Florida has created this website for her students so they can better prepare themselves for standardized tests including the SAT college entrance exam.

The site has been created with her standard students in mind as each of her classes has at least 65% or higher bottom quartile students- students considered at-risk.  Students can study directly from the website or download original SAT vocabulary flash cards to their cellphones or iPods.

So far, the site has been an asset to her students’ success.  They are actually excited about “big words!”  day.
